There are corporations and nonprofits that offer assistance to families who are traveling for medical purposes.  Following is a list of those resources.

Air Care Alliance – Referral agency for TWA Operation Liftoff and AirLife Line

Air Flight America – A national network of volunteer pilots who provide free air transportation for ambulatory patients and time critical cargo.

Angel Flight – Angel Flight is a non-profit organization of pilots and other volunteers dedicated to serving the community by arranging free private air transportation for medical patients who cannot afford to utilize normal, commercial transportation. Angel Flight also provides services to blood, organ and tissue banks. (800) 296-1217

Corporate Angel Network – Flights on corporate jets for cancer patients, bone marrow donors and bone marrow recipients. (866) 328-1313

Miracle Flights for Kids – Provides free access to health care for families who cannot afford transportation to treatment centers anywhere in America. (702) 261-0494 Fax: (702) 261-0497

National Association of Hospital Hospitality Houses – Provides information about facilities offering lodging for families and/or patients during medical treatment away from home. (800) 542-9730

National Patient Travel Hotline – serves to make referrals and provide “how to get there” assistance for any patient needing to travel to a distant specialized medical facility for evaluation, diagnosis or treatment. Patients served are people for whom the cost of long-distance travel for medical care is difficult financially. (800)296-1217
