Saving Little Hearts is dedicated to helping children with congenital heart defects and their families by providing emotional assistance and educational information primarily through the distribution of Care Packages.
Saving Little Hearts provides surgery care packages to children undergoing open heart surgery. Over 7,000 care packages have been given to families. Care packages include many items such as long distance phone cards, disposable cameras, toys and coloring books, Ronnie the Raccoon, various heart defect literature for both children and parents, pens and journals, toiletries and other useful items.
Saving Little Hearts also has a large Parent Matching Program. Saving Little Hearts keeps a database of families containing information such as which heart defect or defects they have experienced, and where they received medical attention. If you would like to be put in touch with another family who has gone through a similar experience, email us and let us know. We take pride in bringing people together.
Although Saving Little Hearts is no longer conducting support group meetings we are actively supporting Mended Little Hearts and their excellent support groups. Mended Little Hearts, a support program for parents of children with heart defects and heart disease, is dedicated to inspiring hope in those who care for the littlest heart patients of all. Mended Little Hearts offers resources and a caring support network as families find answers and move forward to find healing and hope.
