When was the surgery done? Balloon Septostomy  9/30/04, PA Banding 10/1/04, Glenn 8/12/05

What did you think of the hospital and staff? Everyday I thank God for the staff and doctors at CHW. Not only did they literally save my sons life, they gave my family hope and strength when we felt like we had none. From my son's amazing surgeon to the nurses and care partners, every professional in contact with my son cared about him as a person, not just a patient. They truly cared about and provided care for my ENTIRE family, not just my son. My son is here with us today and we are a stronger family because of the care and compassion we received at CHW.

What did you think of the surgeon? Dr. Tweddell is a miracle worker. I have complete faith and trust in his abilities. He is a consummate professional, but he makes as much time as needed to explain things to families awaiting surgery, and obviously cares deeply about his patients.

Would you take your child back to this facility/surgeon? Without hesitation
 

Any advice for others looking at this facility/surgeon? Make use of the services provided to you. Ask the staff and doctors for what you need, they will work hard to provide it for you. Talk with the Cardiac Social Worker, She is a lifesaver! Use the Child Life Dept. if you have other children who are struggling with their siblings CHD. We did and it helped SO much.
