LOCAL CHILDREN’S CHARITY RECEIVES GIFT FROM PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION

Nashville, Tenn., USA, May 23, 2008— Saving Little Hearts, Inc., a Knoxville, Tenn. non-profit organization, recently received a donation of $16,000 from BICSI Cares, Inc.

The check presented to Saving Little Hearts executive director, Karin Coulter, actually was written for $15,900. Yet, right afterwards, keynote speaker and famed sports broadcaster Dick Enberg came on stage and pulled $100 bill out of his pocket saying “let’s make that a nice round number.”

Since 2002, Saving Little Hearts has been helping children with congenital heart defects and their families. “We are extremely grateful to be selected for the BICSI Cares gift,” said Coulter. “I estimate it will help us provide over 600 surgery care packages to the families we work with.”

The gift was presented during the 2008 BICSI Spring Conference held recently at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center. More than 2,100 information transport systems (ITS) industry professionals from around the world not only came to network with peers and share their knowledge, but to share their big hearts and help improve the lives of middle Tennessee children in need.

“BICSI Cares is excited to present this donation to Saving Little Hearts,” said BICSI Cares Committee Chair Christine Klauck, RCDD/NTS Specialist. “Through the generosity and goodwill of BICSI members and conference attendees, we are able to support the efforts of charities dedicated to improving children’s welfare right here in Nashville and throughout the world.”

For more than 20 years, contributions from BICSI members and conference attendees have benefited thousands of children in cities across the U.S. and in other countries. BICSI Cares Inc., the charitable division of the association, selects a local charity at every BICSI conference to receive a donation.

BICSI Cares was officially established as a 501(c)(3) corporation in 1992. BICSI is a professional association supporting the information transport systems industry with information, education and knowledge assessment for individuals and companies. Headquartered in Tampa, Fla., BICSI serves more than 23,000 industry professionals in more than 100 countries. For more information, visit www.bicsi.org.
